An agile sea kayak designed for ocean play

The P&H Delphin II 155 is a sea kayak designed for ocean play and short to mid-length expeditions, combining elements of whitewater kayak design with traditional sea kayak features. Its cockpit is positioned further aft than in conventional designs, contributing to a balanced trim that works with the pronounced bow rocker to keep the bow lightly engaged with the water. The hull follows a Swede-form profile, with the widest point behind the seat, supporting stability while allowing efficient paddle strokes.

The hull design incorporates hard chines at the bow for early engagement and directional control on waves, transitioning to softer edges toward the stern to enable smoother course adjustments. A flat mid-section enhances primary stability and manoeuvrability, while the squared-off stern increases waterline length for improved tracking and flat-water efficiency. The high-volume, dynamically shaped bow is engineered to split and shed water quickly, helping to prevent purling and maintain forward motion when punching through surf.

The MKII version introduces several updated features, including an integrated day hatch, a repositioned skeg control slider on the deck to reduce interference with high-angle paddling, and moulded-in fittings compatible with P&H sail systems. The deck layout includes ergonomically contoured areas around the paddler’s knees for improved contact, and the outfitting system offers five-point adjustability through seat trim, foot pegs, hip pads, thigh grips, and backrest to support a customised fit. The CoreLite X construction provides a multi-layer polyethylene build intended for durability and impact resistance.
