A larger verison of the popular Discovery 158. The Discovery 169 is designed for those who need extra carrying capacity. This makes the 169 great for families with plenty of space and capacity to carry two adult paddlers and two children passengers. Likewise, the Discovery 169 is great for expedition paddling where you need plenty of storage space for multi day/week supplies.
The Discovery performs best on flatwater lakes, slow moving rivers and for canals. It has a wide and stable, yet manoeuvrable hull, making this an easy canoe to paddle and is great for the newcomer to the world of canadian canoe paddling.
Features include two comfortable wooden webbed seats, tough plastic gunwales, comfortable bow and stern carry handles and an ash carrying yoke and thwart.
The Discovery 169 is constructed from Old Town's triple-layer material providing excellent durability for a prolonged life. This is a popular canoe with rental outlets and outdoor activity centres for commercial use.
